Dear THS Families,
Tomales High School is excited to announce that our 9th grade students will participate in The Magnolia Project, a unique program connecting education with real-world career exploration and hands-on experiences. The Magnolia Project partners with schools across Northern California to embed career exploration activities and apprenticeship pathways into the school day, bridging classroom learning with future career opportunities. Through partnerships with local businesses, students will gain valuable skills, build confidence, and connect more deeply with their community as they learn alongside trusted industry mentors. You can learn more about their mission and approach at

Our 9th graders will take part in The Magnolia Project from December 2-5, 2025. During this week, the Tomales High staff has agreed to modify the classroom workload, and all students will be given four extra days after the project to make up any assignments without penalty. This careful planning ensures that students can fully engage with this special opportunity without falling behind in their regular coursework. We appreciate your support as we strive to make learning both meaningful and relevant for all students. On October 24 interviews will be conducted with 9th grade students to see where their interests are. To dive deeper see the Magnolia Project website linked here in this communication.
