Parents & Guardians,
In US History classes during the first week of November, 11th grade students received a presentation that helped them explore different career options and understand how their personalities can align with different career paths.
During the presentation, students learned to understand how their interests, values, skills, and personality traits can help them make informed career decisions. As part of the presentation, students took an assessment through Naviance, a college/career readiness platform based on John Holland's Theory of Career Choice. This assessment is a widely recognized tool that matches personality types with different career paths. The assessment helps students gain a deeper understanding of their personality traits and how they can leverage them to succeed in their future careers.
During the spring semester, students will have the opportunity to explore different colleges and create their college lists prior to starting their senior year. Students will also be able to review their graduation and college-prep status during Individual Junior Meetings with me.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me at 707-878-2286 ext 207 or rachael.kobe@shorelineunified.org. We appreciate your continued support and look forward to helping your child explore their future career options and encourage you to talk with your child about their results.
Best regards,
