Tomales High School

Hi Families:

Last night an Instagram Site was started under the name TomalasDrama . There are inappropriate videos and photos with captions of current students on the site. I am writing to inform you and ask that you please speak with your student about appropriate social media use and the harm that can be caused to others by posting a photo or video of someone without their permission. Please ask your student to unfollow this site. 

Steps that have been taken so far to address this issue: 

A request was made to Instagram to remove the site.

Principal Muelrath has visited all classrooms today to address students directly. 

Counseling support services are in place for any affected students. Please contact School Counselor, Rachael Kobe, or Family Advocate Coordinator, Samantha Gutierrez, if your student needs support. 

Per California Edcode, Students have been warned that posting something inappropriate on social media may lead to consequences that include off campus suspension whether the posting happens during the school day or after school. 

An ongoing investigation to see who started the site and who is posting is underway. If you have any information please share with Principal Muelrath.
